How much will it cost me to appeal my social security disability case if I have to hire a lawyer?
Social Security Disability FAQ Video Transcription
Attorneys handle SSI and Social Security Disability cases on a contingency fee basis. We only get paid if you win your case and get some back pay. If you win your case, the attorney will get 25% of your back pay, with a cap out amount of $6,000. Every few years, this will change, but as of now it is capped at $6,000, so if you get more than $24,000 in back pay, your attorney fees will cap out at $6,000.
